RORISANG ROAR ALL THE WAY  TO THE TOP

Tafelkop: A 17 years old Rorisang Rammupudu is an Under 20 Male Athlete from Ben Viljoen High School  in Groblersdal, in the  area of Sekhukhune District born and bred in Tafelkop. In the year 2022 he was crowned Senior Victor Ludorum (for breaking a record in 400m that was last set in 1974) and in 2023 he was crowned Senior Victor Ludorum again in 200m and 400m record that was last set in the year 1992. During the National championships that was held in Pietermaritzburg, He finished second in the 400m with the second fasted time in his age group and he also bagged another silver medal for 4x 400m Relay. During 2022, he was ranked 4th in the same event but in the under 18 age group. He also participated in ASA Senior Track and Field Championships at MCARTHUR Stadium in Potchefstroom where he competed against big names including Wayde Van Niekerk and Rorisang reached his target that was set for him which was 46.99 seconds in 400m it was a great achievement more especially that he was the youngest amongst the Seniors.  Rorisang Mother Matlakale Rammupudu couldn’t not hide her excitement about the meteoric rise of his son and the efforts that he is putting into his craft as an athlete, “I don’t even have words to describe how I feel right now. All I can say is that I am the Proudest Mother on earth. I thank God for giving me strength to be supportive to my child since he became athlete since Grade 1. I managed to attend most of his Athletics Meetings to watch, Cheer for him and give him the support he needs. I have been doing this since  he started  schooling and he didn’t even know much about the sport then, but as time went he became passionate about Athletics and he made sure he always comes home with a Medal, He works very hard and he doesn’t have a holiday he even train on Christmas day while his peers are out there enjoying.  ” said Matlakale. Matlakale has high hopes for his hardworking son and he want to see him competing at highest level, “I wish to see Rorisang participating at the World Junior Championships and qualifying for the 2024 Olympics.The Sky is not the limit he must work hard to surpass  his  current achievements” She added

He made it to the Athletics South Africa U/20 Squad for African Games that will take place in Zambia for 4x 400m. He is coached by Mr. Jaco Truter who is an educator and a member of the same club. Rorisang is an athlete that is harboring an ambition of hoisting South African National Flag at the highest level by bringing more Championship medals at home.
