Arnot: A 75 year-old pensioner at Ntwane Village in Dennilton, Moutse outside Groblersdal will enjoyed eased mobility after receiving a wheelchair from caring fellow community members.
Gogo Monageng Mamogobo was unable to move around and forced to spend most of her time in bed as her legs could no longer function properly due to old age.
Warmhearted fellow members of her community realized she struggled and decided to find help for her so she could no longer be forced to stay indoors.
Receiving her wheelchair from the caring community members, the seemingly in tears gogo Mamogobo expressed her gratitude to those who made efforts to organize her moving aid and said her days of being subjected to stay in the house all day were over.
“I will now be able to go outside the house to get some fresh air and also sit in the sun like other people unlike before,” said the emotional gogo Mamogobo. Gogo Mamogobo’s family was elated by the donation from the Good Samaritans and said that she would now be able to attend her granddaughter’s wedding in August.
“The donation of the wheelchair was made possible after I received a message from a gentleman called Isaac Monageng asking if we can assist an old lady who can barely move around because of weak knees and old age,” said Seun Mogotji, who organized the wheelchair. The 75year-old pensioner, who has been bed-ridden most of the time due to lack of mobility, stays in the area’s Malaeneng Section with her daughter.
Mogotji said gogo Mamogobo explained her situation to him and it touched him a lot that he promised her to return with the wheelchair over the weekend, and they kept their promise as indeed that happened.
“When we handed her the wheelchair, she was so elated and tears of joy ran down her eyes. We are happy that we managed to provide help for someone in need,” concluded Mogotji.
