The news about the passing of the legendary singer and songwriter, Tshepo Tshola has sent shockwaves in the country.
Tshola’s family sent a statement on Thursday morning which stated that the Village Pope succumbed to covid-19 complications at a hospital in Lesotho.
Many took to social media to share their condolences and tributes to Tshola.
@Lvng_sunflower posted on Twitter: “We were sightseeing in Lesotho when we saw him driving with his sons. They stopped for us and he opened his warms widely as we ran towards him.He complained about his health and pointed us in the direction of the mountains where he’d been resting.”
@governmentza wrote : “We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans of the legendary singer #TshepoTshola (The Village Pope). We remember him for his classic gospel favourite ‘Ho Lokile’.”

The Village Pope established his name as a songwriter and leave vocalist of Sankomota.
