TS GALAXY MAINTAIN CONSISTENCY

Nkngala: TS Galaxy FC emerges for consistent victories since the arrival of the new head coach, Owen Da Gama, who steered the club towards a victory against the undisputed Moroka Swallows FC.

The club is currently standing at the 8th position on the Dstv Premiership log with 17 points in 22 outings.

The lads came from behind to grab a lead by Lindokuhle Mbatha and Bevan Fransman after Ruzaigh Gamildien put the Dube Birds on the lead with a dubious penalty, beating goalkeeper Marlon Heugh.

Mbatha snatched the equalizer and then Fransman popped up with the winning goal.

The results propelled the team to the top-eight in the league and at the same time, they broke the unbeaten run of Swallows in the Dstv Premiership.

The Rockets are unbeaten in their last six games, with three victories and two draws in the past five league outings.

They gained victory against Swallows, Maritzburg United, Black Leopards, Bloemfontein Celtic and drawn with Orlando Pirates and Chippa United

“It was going to be tough against Swallows. They have had five or six penalties already this season. We knew we are up against it. We didn’t want to play the offside trap. Tactically we were on top of them from the first minutes. We had 10 shots at goal in the first half. That tells you how dominant we were in the first half,” said Da Gama.

The head coach indicated that although it was a tough match for his team, he is happy that they had to beat the odds, coming from behind to win the match.

“I’m proud of the boys. We went down because of the penalty and then we were given our own and got cancelled. From a penalty, it becomes a corner kick. Against all adversity, the boys kept on fighting. That’s what we want to see. We want to see that work ethic. We want to see that fighting spirit,” he said.

Da Gama said they are all razor sharp for their next assignments and his side will be out to pass their assignments with flying colours.

“No one can take away that fighting spirit. They can take it everything but not the fighting spirit. I’m very happy with the results. I’m taking my hat off to the technical team and most importantly hat off to the players, support staff, and the technical team. At TS Galaxy we are together. This victory is for everybody,” explained Da Gama.

The club’s mid-fielder, Mlungisi Mbunjana, who played as regular in the club said he is happy to be one of players contributing to the victories of the team.

“I want to play as many games as I possibly can. I want to win games and help the team move from where we are to a better position,” Mbunjana stated.

He is one of the few players to play more than 1000 minutes in the current season.

“TS Galaxy is a good team with good players and management. We deserve to be in a better position. My focus now is on getting more game time. I want to  perform well. When a team does well, it means that individual players will also do well,” he said.
