STLM BOOST SMMEs WITH EQUIPMENTS

Mhluzi: Steve Tshwete Local Municipality has given number of small businesses a major boost by buying them business enhancement equipments after they were hithard by the aftermath of Covid-19.

One of the beneficiaries Sifiso Wisdom Nkosi, Founder and the CEO of Express Newspapers appreciated the help they got from the municipality, “ We feel very much honored and blessed. As small businesses we need all the support we can get especially after covid 19 disaster which saw many small businesses lose their foot print. We have received equipment such as Heat Press for tshirts and sublimation, my cutter industrial, and an eco solvent large fomat printer for signs, boards, branding and billboards. The messege i have for other small businesses is that they must stay focused, never lose hope ad apply for the funding readily available to them.” said Nkosi. The glittering handover ceremony took place at Eric Jiyane Community Hall in Mhluzi.
The handover was done on Friday by council speaker Cllr Thomas Mpye, MMC for Finance Cllr Grace Mathibela and Cllr Sihle Mashiloane. Mpye acknowledged that small businesses are the economic drivers of local economic development, “small businesses are the backbone of our economy, the government has introduced various forms of relief to help Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) recover from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.” concluded Mpye
The Municipality recognizes SMMEs as the key drivers of local economy and sustainable job creation. 18 local small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) benefited from the program which included Madumane Carwash, Trineaty Cleaning Services, Shokky Carwash, Tech pioneers, 10 Shop owners, Maseko Homestead Projects, TW Bomela Designs (Pty) Ltd, Tlou ya Baralong, Tebzalady Sewing, Moly Bakey, Devine Infinity, Cawumbane Bakery, Moyahabo Trading, Mbalizamahlobo, Akusetshenzwe Emasimini, Sfiso Quality Blasting, Press Play Production, Xpress Newspapers, Exmarco Projects and Hawker from (ward 2).
