Limpopo — The 2026 Nedbank Cup final will be staged at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, where TS Galaxy will take on Durban City on Saturday, May 2.
The Premier Soccer League and tournament sponsors Nedbank confirmed the venue on Thursday night, marking another major fixture for the World Cup stadium this season. It previously hosted the Carling Knockout final, where Orlando Pirates defeated Marumo Gallants.
TS Galaxy head into the final with pedigree in the competition, despite struggling for consistency in the league. The Rockets have endured a difficult run of form, losing seven of their last eight matches, but remain a dangerous knockout side with a proven ability to deliver on the big stage.
They famously made history in 2019 by becoming the first lower-division team to win the tournament, defeating Kaizer Chiefs in a memorable final. While the squad has since evolved, assistant coach Bernard Parker remains part of the setup, offering experience from that historic campaign.
Durban City, however, arrive with momentum and a point to prove. In their debut season in the top flight, they have already rewritten the script by reaching the final — a first for any newly promoted side.
Their league form has matched their cup run, with the Citizens pushing for a top-eight finish. They currently sit sixth on the table with 35 points, holding a comfortable gap over the chasing pack.
With silverware and continental qualification on the line, both sides head into the final with everything to play for. Victory will secure not only the Nedbank Cup title, but also a place in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
The Premier Soccer League is expected to confirm the kick-off time in the coming days.
