Jane Furse: On Saturday National Union of Public Service and Allied Workers (NUPSAW) Limpopo successfully held its first Regional Congress of 2025 in the Sekhukhune Region at the ZAI OAT Hotel in Jane Furse. This congress marks a vital step in the union’s efforts to renew leadership structures across Limpopo for the next five years.
Under the theme “Building Working Class Power To Change The Status Quo,” the congress brought together a diverse group of mandated delegates from the Fetakgomo Tubatse, Makhuduthamaga, Elias Motswaledi, and Ephraim Mogale branches. The event featured essential presentations, discussions, and the adoption of reports evaluating the union’s performance over the past five years, including the Political, Secretariat, and Finance reports, as well as strategic planning for the upcoming term.
Provincial Secretary Ntata Sekgota addressed the Congress, emphasizing the importance of collective action. “Our persistence in marches, night vigils, and negotiations concerning the absorption of Community Health Workers (CHWs) has finally borne fruit — a clear victory for all workers. This progress highlights that sustained effort is a strategic tool that yields results,” he stated.
The congress concluded with the election of the top five regional leadership positions, with the following officials unanimously elected to lead Sekhukhune in the 4th Administration:
– Chairperson: Makua M.L.
– Deputy Chairperson: Maesela K.S.
– Secretary: Mmakatwane M.J.A.
– Deputy Secretary: Radingoana D.
– Treasurer Moleshiwa K.
NUPSAW congratulates the newly elected leadership and is optimistic about a progressive term dedicated to advancing the rights and interests of all workers in the region, setting a strong foundation for the future.
