The Mayor of Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality (EMLM) has distributed school shoes to disadvantaged children from Mamadi Secondary schools in ward 21.
Mayor Mathebe said the Municipality is committed to the education and development of children within Elias Motsoaledi. “All children must be equal in school, these shoes will bring confidence to our young learners so that they will focus on getting their education and not worry about the shoes they are wearing.You all know that the ANC-led government has a priority towards education, which means all of us at the different levels of governance, we must priorities education.” said the Mayor.
She also reminded both teachers and learners that although some of the restrictions have been lifted, the pandemic is not over yet, so they need to adhere to the lockdown rules and regulations by wearing masks all the time, washing their hands and maintaining social distancing.
