TWO UNKNOWN BODIES FOUND AT THE LANDFILL SITE

Mogononong – The community of Mogononong Village outside Siyabuswa are still in shock after bodies of two unknown men found at a local landfill site.
The gruesome discovery was made by a resident who was at the landfill site on Wednesday morning
According to residents, the two deceased male victims are not known and it is suspected that they were murdered and later dumped in the area.
Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, Mpumalanga Provincial Police Spokesperson, said the police in Siyabuswa are investigating a case with two counts of murder following the discovery of two male bodies, at the dumping site next to the cemetery.
“The report outlines that a community member alerted the police in Siyabuswa, following the discovery of the bodies. Upon arrival, the police noticed the lifeless bodies of the two men and the first victim, who is dark in complexion reportedly sustained head injuries and he further had some minor scratches on his body. According to their observation, his age could be between 20 and 30. He had visible head injuries with some signs showing that he was bleeding from the injury. He is described to be having a dark complexion. It is further said that he was wearing a blue jean as well as a white T-shirt,” explained Mohlala.
He indicated that the age of the second victim, who is also having a dark complexion, is estimated to be between 30 and 40. He said the deceased was wearing black short trousers with a grey T-shirt and his body shows that he was somehow stabbed with a sharp object on his throat with minor bruises on his body.
“The two are unknown neither by the police nor the community members around the place where their bodies were found. Police at this stage, cannot rule out the possibility that the victims could have been taken from somewhere then assaulted and killed at the landfill site,” he said.
Mohlala said the police urge anyone with information that may assist in identifying the two victims, or provide details that may help in locating the suspects to contact Detective Lieutenant Colonel Sakhile Sibanyoni on 082 457 5227 or to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111. Alternatively members of the public can send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
“The probing of the case is underway and a dedicated team of experts in the investigation field has been established under the leadership of the Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela,” he said.
Manamela has strongly condemned the senseless killing of the two men, citing that the police will work tirelessly to ensure that perpetrators thereof are soon brought to book.
