Weltevrede/Kameelrivier: TS Galaxy FC confirmed that the club have parted ways with coach, Mabhuti Khenyeza, who was set to head the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge side after being head coach for almost a year before the return of Dan Malesela who took over the position.
Khenyeza who is hailing form the same province, will now be joining Kwazulu Natal based Golden Arrows FC as assistant coach to Mandla Ncikazi.
The team’s President Tim Sukazi confirmed the news and wished Khenyeza well in his new chapter. “An opportunity emerged for Coach Mabhuti. We both looked at it and we thought you know what, as opposed to wait for the MDC to start or even an announcement, it will be better off, if he would take an opportunity,” Sukazi said.
He added that they have looked in the bigger picture and decided to let Khenyeza go to join one of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfits.
“We thought it will be better if he return home and take the opportunity to assist Golden Arrows. It is a PSL club after all. Unless if the MDC was active, it wouldn’t have been a problem,” said Sukazi.
Meanwhile the team has on Saturday 17 October 2020 unveiled their new acquisitions to the people of Kwandebele in Weltevrede and Kameelrivier outside Siyabuswa, which include the signing of Kaizer Chiefs and South African national team legendary player, Reneilwe “Yeye” Lethsolonyane, Bevan Fransman and the signing of young stars Wayde Lekay and Bathusi Aubaas.
Lekay and Aubaas made their first debut in the club in a Dstv Premiership clash against Amazulu.
The Rockets defeated Amazulu 1-0 with a thumping header from Lekay in the 28th minute after an exquisite corner kick delivered by Seedat from the right where Lekay rose the highest to put his side on the lead.
The club saw the return of the new Coach Dan “Dans” Malesela, who was at the helm when the club made history by defeating Amakhosi in the Nedbank Cup final at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban in 2019.
