THE HERO OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVISM LAID TO REST

Tshehlwaneng:The Community of Tshehlwaneng Village in Sekhukhune District within  jurisdiction of Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Limpopo mourn the passing of a fearless , brave and revolutionary freedom fighter to ever come out of area of Tshehlwaneng. The community activist Lekgotho Isaac Phala who was affectionately known as “ Zulu”,  dedicated his entire life to the struggle of his people without expecting anything in return by helping everyone in his community like with organizing soccer tournaments and SMMEs development . He was political activist and a community builder but he was never position monger  amid his intellectual capacity. A deep thinker and a strategic leader of note he served  NUM and Tshehlwaneng Youth Development and SAFA in Sekhukhune Region and the entire Limpopo Province  with aplomb .

Lekgotho Isaac Phala was born on the 07 February 1993 in Phokwane Village and his family relocated to Makgeru Village where he’s started his school journey from primary level until Secondary level and he furthered his studies at C.S Barlow College in Motetema where he studied  civil engineering and worked at Dwarsriver Chrome Mine , Phala was participating in many activities were he was National Youth Structure Deputy Chairperson of NUM , founder and director of Ambitious Youth Trading , Director of “ Beng ba Mmusho Civil Workers” , The Chairperson of “ Modu wa Tshehlo Youth Foundation” , Deputy Secretary of Tshehlwaneng Youth Development , Convenor of African Youth Indegenous Leader and he was affiliated with ANC, NUM, RPDS and AYIL.

The Chairperson of Tshehlwaneng Youth Development spoke eloquently about the the contribution of Phala ” The Organisation might have forgotten you and the contribution you have made but the community will never forget you especially Soccer Teams and Community Development , you will always have a special place in our hearts . You ran a good race and fought a good fight , Lekgotho Phala “Zulu” go and rest we will take over the baton and cary on where you left off …” said Neo Gift Maganyela

Secretary of NUM North East Youth Structure “…..Phala met his demise in a tragic car accident on the 30th of March 2023 in Modimolle in Limpopo ,the committed , selfless leader of our revolution passed away on his way to Cosatu’s 50th Anniversary of the 1973 Durban Workers Strike that was held in Kwa Zulu Natal .Lekgotho was not only an outstanding Organiser but he was also a cultural activist who championed cultural recognition and progressive activism has felt across the Sekhukhune Region and entire South Africa as whole….” concluded Donald Makofane

The friends, Collegues , Family ,Local SMMES and the structure praised Phala as a dedicated and soldier who want to see young childrens and older people participating in different activities , some friend said Phala his name must written in a books of history because they learnt a lot from him as Young people .

NUM Secretary in Limpopo Province …” we hereby salute him and thank his family friends, relatives for having borrowed his cadre of a special type to serve our workers , we have no doubt that he would have grown to be one of the most loyal trade unionists in our country , we implore young wokers leader to emulate his selflessness , discipline and clarity of thought in pursuit to transform the working class and the poor in our country and elsewhere in the world….” Said Philip Mankge. Phala was laid to rest in his village of Tshehlwaneng
