EFF FORWARD NEW A MEMBER TO THE LEGISLATURE
Mbombela: Today the Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature Ms Makhosazane Masilela earlier today led the proceedings of the swearing-in of a new member of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Mr Jackson Malatjie. The vacancy was created after the resignation of Mr Sam Zandamela who was the member of the Legislature representing the EFF.
Speaking during the swearing in, the Secretary to the Legislature Mr MH Shabangu indicated that the meeting is convened in line with section 107 of the constitution of the Republic of South Africa, which calls for a member to be sworn in before assuming duties as the Member of the Legislature.
Mr Malatjie took the Members oath and committed that he will abide by the oath and will be honest in executing his work as the Member of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature.
Speaker Masilela congratulated Mr Malatjie on his new position and wished him well on his new responsibilities.
