SHUTDOWN OF BOULDERS MALL

The Ndebele people from Delmas, Ogies, Phola, Witbank, KwaMhlanga and surrounding areas in Nkangala are heading to Boulders Mall in Midrand to send a message to the the Mall management about the right for Africans to wear their traditional attire without fear or unapologetic at a mall or not. The tribe will do a peaceful demonstration at the Mall following discrimination utterances made by the Manager of the Mall allegedly by the name of Jose Maponyane on 23 March to two Ndebele men, Thando Mahlangu and Skhumba la! who entered the Mall wearing isiNdebele traditional attire. The argument erupted when Maponyane who could be seen on a video telling Mahlangu that he must not enter a mall in traditional attrire. The video shot by a lady who also confronted the Maponyane could be heard reminding the guy that this is Africa and people can wear traditional African attire as they please. The video was doing the rounds on social media and many expressed their disappointment with Maponyane who happens to be black referring to him as having self-hate.
