RORISANG FOUND GOLD IN ZAMBIA

Groblersdal:17 years old Tafelkop born Rorisang Rammupudu has won the gold and bronze medal for Team South Africa which participated in under 18 and under 20 African Athletic Championship in Ndola Zambia which started on 29 April to 3 May 2023 Rorisang was one of two athletes who represented Limpopo and the only one Sekhukhune District Municipality in the championship. Timeless News spoke to Rorisang after arriving in the country from Ndola in Zambia,“ I am extremely happy about these honours this was the first time for me participating in a continental championship, I want to thank my mother for the continuous support and my coach for bringing the best out of me.” Said Rorisang. Rorisang won his gold medal with under 20 4x400m mixed relay team on Monday and bronze medal with under 20 4x400m men relay team on Wednesday, “ after this championship I feel ready to represent our country at the highest level and eyes are fixed on Olympics and other international championships” explained Rorisang. Rorisang is currently doing matric and he want to study sports management next year and so far he has managed to strike a balance between his career as an athlete and his studies without any compromise, “ I have a high work rate, I woke up 4H00 am everyday and do two training sessions before I can join my classmates for school lessons, it’s not an easy thing but I have managed both very well and am happy that my season is over I am going to focus on my school work now” concluded Rorisang . We hope and believe that Rorisang will be the next best athlete to come out of South Africa after Wayde Van Niekerk and Akani Simbini and hoist South African flag very high.
