Only the stars are the limit for Jameelah Maleka who will represent the country as Miss SA junior teen in Mumbai next year. The 10 year old who expressed her love for flying was recently crowned as the Miss Junior Nkangala Int Village.
“I am very excited to be chosen to represent the country and be competing against other nations. It always excites me when I have to travel in long flights,” she said.
Jameelah a grade 4 pupil at Cambridge Academy said she loves flying and going through airports.
She has been to Dubai, Asia, Mozambique, Malvides, Zambia to only mention the few.
Jameelah shared that she wants to be an inspiration for children growing up in orphanage homes.
“Orphanages are very close to my heart because my mom grew up in an orphanage and it excites me to be able to help those who are less fortunate. I understand that there are kids who don’t have families and who are not as fortunate of having both parents in the same household. I plan to visit the orphanage and help my friends,” she said.
Jameelah said she plans to be a model.
“I was introduced to the world of modeling by my mom. My teacher also motivated me to enter the Miss Nkangala pageant,” she said.
She also mentioned reading, singing and helping the community as part of her hobbies. Her favourites subject is Mathematics and Hope’s to be a mathematician one one day.
She said she spends her spare time by helping out in her community.
Jameelah said she has also taken part in the support of the local taxi association of Emalahleni for the no looting campaign by raising and donating some funds towards the initiative.
