EXXARO CONDUCT  VACCINATION DRIVE

BELFAST- Belfast Coal conducted its third vaccination drive on Thursday, 14 October.
The drive was a call to action for employees to vaccinate as part of safety measures and keeping employees safe at the workplace.
It drive included vaccination stations and medical practitioners ready to vaccinate the employees on the spot.
When addressing the employees, Dr Matjila, Manager Sustainability Safety and Health, cited that 33 lives have been lost at Exxaro alone through Covid_19.
“Covid_19 does not have legs; we are the ones that move it around,” he said.
He further encouraged employees to vaccinate as this will increase the chance of fighting the virus and limiting the chance 7of being hospitalised.
“Once you have vaccinated you have a better chance of surviving and that Exxaro employees were privileged to have access vaccines free of charge, these vaccines have been tested and are being used all over the world.”
Londolani Rampfumendzi, Belfast Coal Business Unit Manager, said that Belfast Coal has made this day possible and brought the vaccination station to employees.
“Safety is at the centre of our operation; therefore, it is important that we need to vaccinate ourselves to survive Covid_19 as we strive for zero harm, keeping our slogan of Khetha Ukuphepha,” he said.
