CASRIC STARS FC ON WINNIG IN MOTSEPE CHAMPIONSHIP

Kwa-Mhlanga – After purchasing Free State Stars First Division status, the new comers of the Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Casric Stars FC, are making strides in the national first division of professional football in the country.
The football team, based at Kwa-Mhlanga in Thembisile Hani Local Municipality (THLM), is currently one of top contenders to can win the 2022/2023 Motsepe Foundation Championship League campaign and be promoted to the Dstv Premiership.
Casric Stars is currently standing on position 2 on the log with 33 points after playing 16 games. Polokwane City is on the top of the log also with 33 points after playing 16 matches. The teams are separated with only one goal difference, with Polokwane City having ten goals compared to Casric’s nine goals.
Despite that they playing their first season in professional football in the country, the team has won ten out of their sixteen matches they have played so far, with 3 draws and two loses, which is a huge milestone for the rookies.
Casric Stars owner coach, Bucs Mthombeni, told Timeless News that he is still building the club by not putting more focus on promotion at the stage, avoiding to put the team under pressure.
However, Mthombeni said they will appreciate positive results if the team fight and end up getting the promotion.
He insisted that during the matches, he exercises his role only as a team coach and setting aside his roles as the owner of the club.
On Saturday, the team defeated Uthongothi FC 2-1 at Princes Magogo Stadium in Kwa-Mashu, KwaZulu Natal.
Their next encounter will be played against Baroka FC at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Kwa-Mhlanga on Sunday the kick off is at 15:30 pm. The club has called on the supporters to come in numbers and to arrive early to cheer the host.
