BIKOLAND CREATIONS HOSTS        CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY

Siyabuswa :On Saturday Bikoland Creations hosted a Capacity Building Certificate Awarding Ceremony for 41 beneficiaries from the communities of Ama-Ndebele, Khoi-San Royal house, Ba-Pedi. Griqualand Princess, was part of the attendees of a 13-days Leather Craft Skills Training, Life skills Capacity Building and Enterprise Development workshop in collaboration with Vulinqondo Digital Skills Lab.
The beneficiaries which were mostly young people benefited from the workshop at Vulinqondo, facilitated by the NYDA, these young people were registered on NYDA Digital Platform. While the other group above age 35 were trained by industry experts’ designers and crafters on designing, cutting process and different types of stitching to create leather products such as shoes, bags and accessories.
The groups will combine and form cooperatives from which they can generate their own income and teach others members from their respective communities as it is the interest of Bikoland Creations to uplift rural communities.
The beneficiaries were presented with certificates of participation and encouragement for their roles throughout the program . The royal families of Ndzundza Mabhoko, Ndzundza Mabuza graced the occasion , amongst them there was Mr. Mtsweni from Nkangala District Municipality’s Sports, Culture and Recreation Department, Mr Ndala from Dr Js Moroka Local Municipality’s Culture, Sports and Recreation Department and Ndabezitha Samaya Mahlangu.
The Capacity Building is part of the Bikoland Leather Craft Festival and a build up towards Bikoland Leather Craft Festival Stimulus which will be held on the 25th of March 2023, at Matshiding Show Grounds. The festival will include cultural music, display of cultural leather education and products, exhibitions from the beneficiaries of the project and Bikers Cultural Route and fundraising gala dinner.
