Limpopo – Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt was arrested during a targeted operation in the upscale suburb of Bendor, outside Polokwane, on Wednesday morning, 12 November 2025.

The operation, conducted around 09:30am, was a joint effort between the Provincial Investigation Unit and the Provincial Tracking Team.

The arrest follows a case registered at Westernburg SAPS, linked to an incident that took place in the early hours of October 19, 2025, along Witklip Street in Ladanna.
According to police reports, Shebeshxt was involved in a heated altercation with another motorist, during which he allegedly fired multiple shots into the other vehicle, injuring a 34-year-old male occupant. The victim was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, praised the law enforcement teams for their swift and professional response. “We are taking this matter very seriously, and a dedicated team was appointed to ensure that no stone is left unturned. The South African Police Service reiterates that no one is above the law, regardless of their social standing,” she said.

Shebeshxt’s vehicles were also seized for forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations. The musician is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 13 November, facing two counts of attempted murder.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, especially as it comes mere days after Shebeshxt released his December gig guide, with fans calling for justice and accountability.
Social media reactions have been mixed, with many expressing concern over the legal process that now awaits the artist.

“No one is above the law. He will understand it when he is behind the bars”. One social media user expressed.

Authorities remain tight-lipped, promising further updates. This is a developing story.
