Born and raised in the vibrant Mamone village in Limpopo province, Kgaogelo Sebaka, known to fans as Kgau, is an emerging South African musician whose artistic talents extend beyond music to include videography and photography. After a significant hiatus from the music scene, Kgau is back with a fresh hit single titled “Rato Laka Dumela,” and he’s ready to make waves.
In 2014, Kgau made his mark in the music industry with his debut Hip Hop studio album, “THE RED ALBUM,” released under the stage name Raurau. This album featured popular tracks such as “Champagne,” “This Life,” and “Paper Chasing,” featuring artists Mawesh and Veli Yako from Duduza. Despite the initial success, Kgau took a step back from recording music for personal reasons.
However, during his time away from music, Kgau channeled his creativity into videography. He became a sought-after videographer, capturing memorable moments at weddings, engagement parties, and anniversary celebrations. It was this experience that ultimately inspired his return to music, leading to the creation of “Rato Laka Dumela,” a heartfelt Afropop love song that resonates with couples and romantics alike.
Since its release, “Rato Laka Dumela” has quickly gained traction across several radio stations, making impressive strides on the airwaves. The song debuted on Thobela FM’s Top 30 countdown in its first week, while also enjoying high rotation on SK FM and securing a place in Westside FM’s Top 20 countdown, alongside Radio Turf. The positive feedback from listeners and fans has motivated Kgau to consider working on a full album.
Collaborating with talented producers Ayanda Nkosi and Ishmael Masemola, Kgau worked diligently to perfect the recording and mastering of “Rato Laka Dumela.” He is excited to share this sweet love song with audiences everywhere, and it will soon be available on all major digital platforms.
