TS GALAXY LOST TO USUTHU

BY STAFF REPORTER
Mnombela:With just six minutes gone, AmaZulu defender made a great block to deny Ebrahim Seedat. The Rockets conjured up some neat touches as Mbatha played an exquisite pass to the path of Mngomezulu who was denied by Gumede but the rebound fell to Seedat who was denied by Xoki.
In the 11th minute, Siyethemba Sithebe delivered a dangerous ball into the box and Augustine Mulenga arrived late and unleashed a curling right footed shot that went narrowly wide.
As Xoki had done for Usuthu, Pogiso Sanoka came to the Rockets’ rescue on the half-hour mark when he cleared Mulenga’s effort off the line.
Mulenga was the best player on the pitch and close again shortly before the interval when he turned his marker and let fly with a thunderous shot that went only a couple of inches wide of the right-hand post. Usuthu took the lead in the 56th minute when Tercious Malepe played Luvuyo Memela down the right of the box and he curled a sublime effort on his left foot into the far corner.
Galaxy pressed forward and came ever so close to equalising. Tshegofatso Nyama did a wonderful job down the right hand side and delivered an exquisite pass to Sipho Mngomezulu but his header was cleared off the line.
The complexion of the game changed when Sanoka was sent off for a second yellow for his challenge on Malepe.
However, Galaxy were showing bravery with ten men and after Lindokuhle Mbatha was fouled on the edge of the box, Seedat rifled his free-kick over the bar with ten minutes left to go.
The Rockets had one more good opportunity in stoppage time but Mokete Mogaila’s cross was diverted over the bar by Mxolisi Machuphu as Galaxy remain bottom of the DStv   standings
