THE EXECUTIVE MAYOR CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS BUNDLE OF JOYS

Jane Furse: “I would like to congratulate families of the newborns for a successful delivery, equally wish them good health and a happy environment going foward. Let love and happiness reinforce their families during this Christmas season”.

All smiles all-round as the Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune , Cllr Minah Bahula led a visit to hospitals to welcome Christmas newborns across the district.

First stop was in Makhuduthamaga Municipality were 5 borns were registered at the Jane Furse Hospital and 2 at the St Rita’s Hospital respectively. 3 more babies were delivered in the Elias Motswaledi Municipality, Philadelphia (2) and with Groblersdal hospital registering just 1 baby today.

The Matlala hospital in Tsimanyane, Ephraim Mogale Municipality also delivered 2 bundles of joy.

The Executive Mayor and the local Mayors, Hon Cllr Magetle Tladi of Elias Motswaledi, Hon Cllr Merah Mahlase of Makhuduthamaga Municipality and Acting Mayor of Ephraim Mogale Cllr Sedibane also presented gifts and took this opportune moment to interface with the management of these hospitals to get first information on challenges experienced at the hospital. The Executive Mayor Bahula committed to elevate such to the Department of Health, led by MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba who also visited other hospitals in the Province.

Meanwhile, enroute to hospital visits, the Executive Mayor made a stop at the annual Mamone Fun Walk. Initiated and led by the Executive Committee member of Makhuduthamaga Municipality Cllr Morwamakoti and other local activists, the fun walk attracts tons of thousands of people yearly and aims to create a healthy lifestyle awareness and to combat social ills.
