Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has confirmed in a statement this morning that he DOES know and has met with Mr Brown Mogotsi.
He describes Mogotsi as his comrade.
Remember KZN Police General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi told a media briefing over the weekend that Mchunu had previously in Parliament denied knowing Mogotsi.
On the other hand, Minister Mchunu claims he has never met or spoken to Mr ‘CAT’ Matlala.
Meanwhile, the controversial businessman Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala has been found with a cellphone inside his cell at Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Services in Pretoria. Correctional Services Department says this happened over the weekend and has led to Matlala being moved to the C-Max section of the prison. Matlala is facing attempted murder charges.
Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxulamo says a decision was made to move Matlala to the prison’s C-max section after being found with that cellphone. He is considered a high risk inmate. Matlala’s name has hogged headlines following the explosive revelations by Kwazulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi on Sunday – about Matlala’s alleged links to Police minister Senzo Mchunu. He was awarded a 360 million SAPS health services tender which was later cancelled. Matlala now faces attempted murder charges together with his wife, for the alleged attack on an actress and socialite.
