NTHALI CELEBRATES 10 YEARS ON RADIO

This week we are featuring, the former Rise FM sports anchor, social media influencer, the corporate Master of Ceremonies, debate moderator and the current Programmes Manager at Radio Langa Creo Nthali.

Thulane Madalane: who is Creo Nthali and where were you born and raised?

Creo Nthali: Creo Nthali is a public speaking and broadcast media personality and brand. A young man determined to shape the future by shaping individuals through coaching. I am a father and a husband, inspired by life to be a man of value and substance.

TM: What kind of family do you come from?

CN: I am the second and last-born son of Moosa Nthali & Elizabeth Sambo. I was nurtured around Christian values from early childhood. Both my parents have been present and supportive all my life’s journey, they did their best despite not having enough.

TM: Who was your childhood role model?

CN: It has to be my uncle from my father’s side, Reverand Micha Nthali. As a young boy he would sometimes take me with to the Ligwalagwala FM studios where he was a presenter. Also a public speaker, in his capacity as a church moderator at the Uniting Presbyterian Church, he inspired a lot in me and shaped my aspirations.

TM: What challenges did you face both at school and in your neighborhood as a young person and how did you overcome them?

BM: I never felt like I belonged to any group at school, not even the debate group I was a part of. Acknowledging this helped me see life to be more about becoming rather than belonging. In the neighborhood one has had to surviving the rage of alcohol and drug abuse, my dreams and aspirations brought me through.

TM: You are the former Rise FM sports,  News anchor and Producer where did your journey begin?

CN: My radio journey begun whilst I was studying for a National Diploma in Journalism with the Tshwane University of Technology. I used to excel in the broadcast media class. Post TUT I joined the Barberton Community Radio Station as an intern, a couple of years later, in 2014 RISE FM first took me in as a News Achor. In 2017 I joined the 1873 FM an online radio based in Sandton. 2018 saw to my return at RISE FM as a Sports Anchor and later a Sports Producer.

TM: You are the Programme Manager at Radio Langa, what does your work entail?

CN: My work as PM entails monitoring every on-air activity. I am responsible for the larger team at RL, made up of presenters and producers. I help the owners of the radio achieve their desired sound.

TM: what advices would you give to someone who wants to pursue the samilar business interests as you?

CN: It takes more than talent to make it to the top, you need to learn the skills and understand the admin. Over and above it all never stop, keep giving it your all and learn as much as you can daily.

TM: You have worked alongside lot of high-profile celebrities like Kedibone Mkhabela, how was it like working with industry’s heavyweights?

CN: It’s been inspirational, I’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from a lot of people who have been in the media space long before me, such as Thebigzill, Shushu-baby (Shukuma Lukhele), Mpumi Mbethe, to mention just a few.

TM: You are Corporate Master of Ceremonies, who are your clients?

CN: I’ve offered my services to a number of corporate clients, such as Barberton Mines, Jireh Connections, SM Funeral Service, Mental Health Awareness SA, Vodacom SA and several public institutions.

TM: South African entertainment calendar has many big events like South African Traditional Music Awards, Metro FM Music Awards, Miss South Africa and many more, which one do you aspire to host in the near future?

BM: It would be a delightful experience to host Miss South Africa in the near future and take part at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.

TM: Lastly do you have any self-help projects that are meant to empower youth who want to change their lives for better?

 CN: The Power-break academy offers life and career coaching to young people from anywhere around South Africa at very low rates and absolutely free for those who can prove they cant afford to pay.
