eMalahleni: Nkosimphile Mthombeni from St. Mark’s International School in Mbombela and Kenny Zolani from Witbank High School in eMalahleni have emerged as standout performers at the National Winter School Sport Championships held in Durban, clinching prestigious individual awards for their exceptional talents on the football field.

In an impressive display of skill and determination, Mthombenidominated the girls’ division, finishing as a joint top goal scorer with three goals throughout the tournament. Her outstanding performance not only caught the attention of fans but also earned her the coveted Player of the Tournament award, celebrating her impact on the game and her contributions to her team’s success.

On the boys’ side, Zolani matched Mthombeni’s excellence, showcasing a remarkable level of play that distinguished him as a key player in the tournament. His contributions were recognized with the Player of the Tournament award, a testament to his skill, leadership, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Both athletes’ achievements highlight the dedication and talent present in South Africa’s youth football scene, inspiring future generations of players. Their success at the National Winter School Sport Championships reflects not only their hard work and commitment to the sport but also the growing support for school-level athletics across the country.
