Moripane:The Malebo Indigenous Games and Sports tournament, held on October 11-12, 2025, at Moripane sports ground, was a resounding success and tournament was sponsored by Mr Collins Mmotla. The event brought together top teams from all over Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality, with exciting matches in soccer and netball.
In soccer, Raethoma Raefetsa FC emerged victorious, defeating ALMD 5-3 in a thrilling penalty shootout in the final, after the match ended 1-1 in regular time. The team walked away with R6000 in cash, gold medals, and a trophy. Makhudu “Magnet” from ALMD was named Player of the Tournament, while Joppe, goalkeeper of Raethoma Raefetsa FC, was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
The netball competition saw Junior Bucks NC take top honors, followed closely by Mindollar NC and Manganeng Madrid NC.
Speaking about the tournament, organizer Malebo Mashianoke was ecstatic about the success of the event, thanking God and expressing gratitude to sponsors, participating teams, and fans who came out in large numbers to support their teams. “I am excited about the success of this tournament… I want to thank God for the strength and ability to endure the challenges of hosting a tournament of this magnitude,” Mashianoke said.

The tournament attracted over 300 people, including hawkers who sold food and refreshments, making it a vibrant celebration and a tournament that will be etched in the minds and hearts of the people.
