HEALTH MEC MONITORS THLM VACCINATION SITES

Mpumalanga: MEC for Mpumalanga Department of Health, Sasekani Manzini, embarked on a drive to monitor Covid-19 programmes in Thembisile Hani Local Municipality (THLM) on Wednesday 7 July in Verena, Kwamhlanga.
Manzini, accompanied by health officials, paid homage to Verena vaccination site outside to monitor vaccination of senior citizens, who began by collecting their social grant money and receiving their jabs at the same place.
The MEC urged the elderly to use the opportunity to get vaccinated before, prior the commencement of vaccination of other frontline sectors, other essential groups and general communities to avoid crowding in vaccination centers.

Manzini later went on to visit KwaMhlanga Hospital to assess the condition of the hospital in managing the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It is very crucial that as a province, we get ready to avoid an increase of unnecessary infections, which lead to an increase of hospitalization,” she said.
Through the same programme, Manzini had previously engaged on a vaccination monitoring trip rollout programmes at Siyathuthuka Community Hall in Belfast, Emakhazeni Local Municipality.
The programme visited vaccination sites aimed to administer Covid-19 vaccine for teachers and for citizens over 50 and 60 years of age, to curb the third wave of Covid-19 resurgence.
