Rodney Malele watched as all his belongings were burnt to ashes.
The 28 year old was one of the 12 families whose shacks were gutted at Ext 12, eMbalenhle.
“I only managed to get my personal belongings such as identity documents and certificates. I lost everything that I worked hard to get. I was only left with the clothes I was wearing,” Malele said.
He appealed to the leaders and no governmental organizations to assist them in any way.
“We need every little help to try and organize our lives,” he said.
At this the fire that damaged about 13 shacks is still unknown.
Some tenants said the fire originated in one of the rooms.
The ward councillor did not respond to questions posed to him by Timelessnews. An officer from Govern Mbeki municipallity who asked to remain anonymous said they were not aware of the shack fires.
