Eldorado Park, Johannesburg – In a night of anguish and unanswered questions, Ward 18 Councillor Juwairiya Kaldine has moved to set the record straight following a disturbing incident in Boeing Road, Extension 1, that has gripped the community.
According to Cllr Kaldine, residents raised the alarm on Wednesday evening after discovering that SAPS had allegedly left a crime scene unsecured and “vulnerable.” Responding immediately, Kaldine went to the scene, then directly to the local police station to demand answers.
“I called the General and told him nothing had been done – all the evidence was still there,” she said.
From there, Kaldine rushed to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, where she has been at the bedside of the baby’s mother, alongside community activists, offering support.
Contrary to earlier reports circulating in the media, Kaldine confirmed that the infant is not deceased. “The little baby is on life support, fighting for her life,” she emphasised.
The councillor criticised those spreading unverified information. “Can we stop reporting incorrect information to the media? This community deserves answers first before anyone. We can’t be wanting clout in a time like this. Hou julle op!”
She has urged residents to keep the child in their prayers and assured that she will be the first to update the community should the situation change.
“This is about truth, accountability, and standing with this family in their darkest hour,” she said.
