Manganeng – The Dumi De Mentor tournament, organized by Dumi Moela, known to many as Dumi De Mentor, celebrated its third anniversary over the weekend, bringing together the vibrant community of Manganeng for a festive display of sportsmanship and local pride. The event was honored by the presence of Makhuduthamaga Municipality Ward 17 councilor, Nkadimeng Tony, along with fellow councilors, who joined in the festivities.
This year’s tournament featured a variety of activities for children and showcased the contributions of local street vendors. These vendors provided a delightful selection of food and snacks, enhancing the festive atmosphere while supporting the local economy. The event’s success relied entirely on community goodwill, as it was conducted without major sponsors or financial backing. Organizers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to supporters Pmash and Mr. Collins Mmotla for their invaluable contributions and thanked the residents of Manganeng for their enthusiastic participation.

Despite some rain, the weekend was filled with thrilling moments, beginning with a lively opening walk and run on Saturday that set an energetic tone for the competitions that followed.
Football Tournament Results:
Group Stage:
1. Batlhokwa came out strong with a 2-0 victory against ALMD.
2. In a nail-biting showdown, Future edged out NSD in penalties, winning 8(1)-7(1).
3. Mighty Birds soared to a 4-0 triumph over Sefogole.
4. Madrid battled hard but fell short against Mmotong, with a final score of 2(1)-4(1) in penalties.
Semi Finals:
1. The excitement continued as Mmotong and Future battled to a tense 0-0 draw, resulting in Mmotong’s elimination.
2. Batlhokwa and Mighty Birds clashed in a gripping match, with Batlhokwa securing a narrow 7(0)-6(0) penalty shootout victory.
Final:
In a spectacular finale, Future FC claimed glory once again, triumphing over Batlhokwa with a score of 5(0)-4(0) penalty shootout and celebrating their second consecutive championship win!

– Inner City 21, Nganeng 3
Inner City’s consistent performance throughout the tournament secured them the title of overall champions in netball, thanks to a well-established points system.
