Groblersdal – Award-winning gospel artist Abicky Kgolane is preparing to host Worship Xplosion 2026, a major gospel gathering expected to draw worshippers from across Sekhukhune and surrounding areas.
Kgolane, best known for his hit Mphe Matla, hails from Groblersdal in the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality. Since releasing his debut album in 2021, he has steadily risen within South Africa’s gospel music scene, transitioning from journalism into a full-time music career. His popular singles, including Ha o le Teng, Tsamaya le Rona, Bita Jesu and Rato la Jeso, continue to receive airplay on gospel radio and television platforms, strengthening his growing national presence.
His contribution to gospel music has earned him significant recognition, including awards at the MIA Gospel Music Awards in 2023 and the Creative Music Awards in 2025, where he was named Best Gospel Male Artist.
Worship Xplosion will take place on 21 March 2026, starting at 5pm, and is set to continue into the early hours of 22 March. The event will be held at the Sekhukhune TVET College, CS Barlow Campus in Motetema Township, outside Groblersdal town, where organisers promise an evening filled with worship, music and spiritual reflection.
Described as “a night of power”, the event aims to bring together communities through praise and unity in faith. Kgolane will lead dynamic worship sessions alongside a lineup of established gospel artists, including Promise Manyaka, Dr Rosyline Sathekge, Solly Matseba, Dorothy Mathibe, Dr T, Maphutha Manamela and Afrique A, among others.
Organisers say the gathering is designed to offer attendees an opportunity for spiritual renewal, connection and inspiration. With music expected to carry through the night, Worship Xplosion is positioned as one of the standout gospel events in the region’s 2026 calendar.
Kgolane continues to perform at events across the country, with his music available on major digital platforms. Tickets for Worship Xplosion are available through the organisers, and Kgolane is also available for bookings at 072 797 2922.
