Beloved, tonight I want to speak to you about the Incomparable Jesus Christ. Let us find confirmation in the Word of God, specifically in the book of John, chapter 1, verse 3: “All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.”

This verse serves as a powerful reminder that our Master, Jesus Christ, predates creation itself. Everything and everyone—both in heaven and throughout the universe—exists through Him. Without Him, nothing was made. Even the angels are His creation. As the book of Hebrews declares, He has been given a name that is above all angels.

Furthermore, Colossians 1:15-16 addresses any doubts we might have about the place of Jesus Christ in the broader scope of creation. It states, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him.”

These two verses remind us sharply that Jesus Christ is God in human flesh, exalted above everything we can conceive. Therefore, comparing Jesus Christ to any of His creations is nothing short of a travesty. Even the martyrs of our faith, both from the Old and New Testaments, should not be compared to Jesus Christ. They all occupy graves, but the grave of our Master, Jesus Christ, remains empty even today!

No matter how powerful your church leader may appear, he will never compare to Jesus Christ, for he is part of our Lord’s creation. Recently, we have witnessed saints bowing before their pastors, glorifying them above the name of Jesus Christ. Beloved, this is nothing but idolatry!

Peter, after intimately knowing Christ, understood that everything, including signs and wonders, must first resonate in the name of Jesus Christ. In Acts 10:25-26, we see Peter demonstrating his reverence for the Lord. “When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter lifted him up, saying, ‘Stand up; I too am a man.'”

Now, I ask you—what kind of servants demand that we kneel before them? We must test their spirits, for surely that spirit does not come from Jesus Christ.

Finally, beloved, regardless of how eloquent we may become through the gifts bestowed upon us by our Master Jesus Christ, we must resist the temptation to be compared to or exalted above our Lord and Savior. Remember the warning He gave us, as noted in John 16:13:  “Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.”

Let us keep our eyes fixed on the Incomparable Jesus Christ, honoring Him above all else, for He alone is worthy! Amen.
