Burgesfort:In an endeavor to uplift and support local Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) within their host communities, Anglo American Zimele Mototolo Business-Hub has launched a Tender Training program, aiming to enhance the quality of tender submissions for Anglo American contracts. This initiative is set to provide host community suppliers from  these  villages Ga Phasha, Ngwaabe, Ga Mampuru, Tukakgomo, Longtill and others with the necessary tools and knowledge to seize tender opportunities available at Anglo American. This  training was attended by thirty five SMMEs at Thaba Moshate Hotel and Convention in Burgesfort over a period of two days.

In collaboration with Caliba Group, a renowned procurement advisory firm, Anglo American Zimele Mototolo Business-Hub has rolled out a comprehensive training program that encompasses all aspects of the tendering process, negotiation techniques, and contracting. As part of the training, participants are also provided with a practical example of how to tender not only limited to only in  Anglo American but with other Mines and government as well, this will allow them to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of what is required.

The program, currently being implemented across Anglo American, focuses on host community suppliers that are serviced by Zimele. By offering this Tender Training to the suppliers, Anglo American Zimele strives to equip them with the necessary skills to submit competitive bids and improve their chances of securing contracts elsewhere in the country.

Recognizing the immense potential and innovative ideas that exist within host communities, Anglo American Zimele Mototolo Business-Hub is committed to fostering an environment where local businesses can thrive and establish sustainable relationships with some of the world’s largest mining companies.

The  Training  Consultant from  Caliba Group, Masego Khutsoane, expressed her enthusiasm for the program, stating, “We firmly believe in the development and empowerment of local SMMEs. By offering Tender Training, we are providing our host community suppliers with the essential knowledge and tools to succeed in securing contracts, thereby contributing to the growth and prosperity of their businesses,” She said.
