Marble Hall: From now onwards, Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality in the Sekhukhune District Municipality will continue to obtain clean audits from the Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA), if promises made by the mayor Given Moimana to maintain the perfect trajectory are anything to go by.
The local municipality with headquarters in the agricultural town of Marble Hall has emerged with unqualified audit report for the financial year 2022/2023 from Auditor General, Ms Tsakani Maluleke’s office.
Welcoming the report tabled last Friday December1, Moimana credited the Executive, Council, the entire workforce, the municipal manager Mogobadi Moropa and his senior management team for the sterling performance.
“The financial position of Epharim Mogale as at 30 June 2023 and its financial performance and cash flows for the 2022/2023 financial year ended in accordance with the Standards of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (standard of GRAP) and the requirements of the Municipal Finances Management Act 56 of 2003 and the Division of Revenue Act 5 of 20202,” the mayor explains.
He assures the approximately 174 375 population of the largely rural 2 011km² municipality that finances are in good hands and that the proof of which will be seen in the form of clean audits from AGSA every financial year going forward.
“Clean audits starts on the first day of the financial year,”

he adds.
Getting things right in order to achieve the current unqualified financial status, Moimana was resolute in overseeing the appointment of capable and experienced men and women who are professionals in their respective fields.
“We hope they will not be complacent and drop the ball. Let us work together. Let us put our hands on the deck,” he stresses.
Overseeing rich agricultural fields which make 80% of its land charectirised by citrus, table grape, vegetable, cotton, livestock and game farming, Ephraim Mogale Municipality boasting a total 16 wards vows to continue to leverage this potential to dent unemployment in accordance with its slogan, “RE HLABOLLA SETŠHABA”, meaning we develop our people.
