BLACK SKY JOIN MATSEBONG IN CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Dichoeung : On Friday Black Sky Investment and Holding owned by a local businessman Mr Herman Ntjana joined Matsebong Secondary School Top Achiever Awards ceremony as the main sponsor of the event. The event is the brainchild of Timeless News Foundation . Mr Ntjana was excited to partner with Timeless News Foundation and Matsebong Secondary School in motivating pre-tertiary learners to celebrate their acadamic excellence, “ Am very proud and happy to be associated with these awards as they serve as the motivation for our learners to excel in their studies” concluded Ntjana. This event serve as a platform to recognize and celebrate the outstanding academic accomplishments of learners who have excelled in various subjects and overall top achievers with the best average than their peers. The sole purpose of these awards is to showcase the hard work, dedication, and make Matsebong Secondary School one of the best performing schools in Limpopo Province.
The Headmaster of the school Mr Solly Lentsoane has indicated that since the inception of these awards in the previous quarter the results of the school has changed drastically ,” our preliminary examinations results have emulated our mid-year results, grade 8 results were dropped by 1 percent, grade 9 got 23 percent increase, grade 10 got 14 percent increase, grade 11 got 7 percent increase and grade 12 got 16 percent increase. My promise to everyone here, is that our final matric results will not go below the Provincial Department of Education threshold of 75%” quipped Lentsoane.
Mr Machipu Mahlase who delivered a keynote address encouraged learners to take education serious in order for them to escape the hardships of poverty , “ it’s incumbent upon you to take education serious so that you become exemplary leaders in our communities, I heard the Headmaster talking about revolution in his address, revolution means changing your situation from undesirable to desirable, education is the only tool that will give you the future you desire.” Said Mahlase. Mahlase introduced a 26 years old Beauty Makgeru who is a PHD candidate to relate her story to aspirant academics ( matriculants) who need to jump their last hurdle before they can start their tertiary education life, “ my tertiary education life was never an easy one, I encountered so many setbacks which includes not having money to fund my studies. You must be like a ram, when ram fights it will retreat from it’s opponent for a while just to gather some strength and come back stronger. Finally in 2016 I met someone who helped to register at the University of Mpumalanga where I completed my degree, honours degree and masters degree, today by the grace of God am the PhD candidate. In nutshell I am telling you that don’t make excuses it’s possible for you to reach the academic level that you desire” stated Makgeru.

Apart from academic achievements, the ceremony also recognizes learners who have shown exemplary leadership skills and made significant contributions to the school and the community. These learners have taken on leadership roles in various clubs, organizations, and community service initiatives, inspiring others with their passion and commitment to making a positive difference.
