PHOLA: On Saturday morning, Chief Sipho Mahlangu of Ndzundza Sogutjhe Traditional House in conjunction with Phola Football Association, Liselihle Organization and Sogutjhe Foundation donated more than 100 food parcels to Phola Community which were mostly elderly people, orphaned children and those in need at Somhlolo Sports Ground in Phola. According to Thulisile Mahlangu the admin clerk at Ndzundza Sogutjhe in the office of Chief Sipho Mahlangu, His Majesty started this initiative 3 years ago in partnership with the Phola Football Association and Liselihle Organization.The main purpose was to feed the elderly in the community, orphaned children and those who are in dire need for assistance.
His Majesty was touched by the level of destitute families since the advent of Covid19 “The chief was touched by the way COVID-19 affected the society and decided to reach out to the community with his partners hence Ogies Branch Capitec Bank joined forces and sponsored with food parcels.” said Mahlangu
The tribal authority under his Majesty Sipho Mahlangu is hopeful that number of beneficiaries will increase in the new year and more corporate sponsors will come on board to support this noble initiative.
