Belfast: Belfast Coal together with Entlearolo Trading handed over sewing machines to the value of R205 650,85 to the local Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise (SMME) Lugcabho project PTY (LTD) from a small community at Belfast town called Madala.
This donation was made possible by Entlearolo Trading as part of the contractor’s donation drive. The SMME owner Nelly is one of the portable skills development programme beneficiaries, such empowerment has propelled the local entrepreneur to start her project to empower other unemployed youth with sewing skills and encourage them to start their own businesses.
Through the donation letter of commitment, Nelly managed to convince the Belfast Academy to source a contract for sewing school uniform and she become main supplier of uniform for the school.
Nelly expressed that “Sewing is my passion and coming up with new ideas is what makes it exciting and challenging. I enrolled for the portable skills to broaden my knowledge of sewing and with the hope to buy enough machines to work with community members who share the same passion as mine. Dreams do come true, Exxaro Belfast Coal and Entlearolo made my dream a reality today. We cannot thank you enough for the donation of this magnitude. This is not mine, but for the whole community.” concluded, Nelly
The community of Madala came in numbers to witness the handover and praised Entlearolo for delivering on their commitments. The business partner made it clear that the communities around the mine matter and they are determined to do everything in their powers to support life changing initiatives expressed Mandla Ngwenya from Entlearolo Trading.
Amongst the community members present was the Ward Councillor, Cllr Mthimunye. He expressed his jubilation and appreciation for such a contribution “This will play a significant role, more especially in the lives of the unemployed and job-hunting individuals” said Cllr Mthimunye.
